Your kids are going to love this Uppercase Letter Z Craft and learn the sound and shape of Z in no time. This adorable zebra craft will be a favorite.
Helping your kids learn their letters can be as easy as reading great books, playing fun games, and making cute crafts like this one. All of these activities help reinforce what your student is learning. At the same time, your child will be improving fine motor skills, building thinking skills, and growing in so many different ways.
When you connect what you need your child to know with a thematic concept, it dramatically increases learning retention. I love using different extension activities to help children remember what we’ve been learning! Extension activities cover different subject areas to “extend” learning. Before and after you make this uppercase letter Z craft, try these different zebra extension activities to help your child learn the letter Z and its sound.
Reading to your children is incredibly valuable for learning and development. If you can only do one thing with your child today, read them a great book. We have an entire list of Letter Z Picture Books posted, with quite a few books about the Zebra on the list.
Watch a science video called Why Do Zebras Have Stripes. Another fun zebra video teaches kids all about zebras. You can also read a non-fiction book or two about zebras for a little science. This one is really cool: Zebra Family by Jane Goodall.
Doing craftwork can be hard for kids because they will use fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and visual perceptual skills just to name a few. This also makes crafting incredibly good for kids, so resist the urge to think of craft time as useless busywork, and give your kids access to kid’s scissors, glue, and construction paper as much as possible. Don’t judge the final product, because perfection is not the goal. Craft time is all about working on those necessary foundational skills. Make a Zebra Finger Puppet.
Play is such a powerful contributor to learning at this age! Give your children time to play with these toys and explore the world of zebras when they aren’t doing school work.
Pretend to be a zebra with this fun Safari Animal Yoga Movement Activity and help your kids get moving. Physical activity right before learning activities increases brain activity!
