Have your child make this beautiful vase with our uppercase letter V craft and learn the shape and sound of V while crafting. As a child takes a letter shape and forms a picture with it, they create a permanent image in their brain that will help them remember the shape and sound of the letter for the rest of their lives.
As an adult, you may not remember these pictures that you formed as a child, but you remember the letter name and sound because of those images. It’s all part of the process of learning.
Spend some time reviewing the letter V and its sound with your child. Have your child trace the letter with his or her fingers. Write the letter on the bathroom mirror they use most frequently with window chalk. Draw the letter on the wall of the bathtub with a bathtub crayon. Use the alphabet worksheets like the ones found in our store to review each letter in fun, hands-on ways.
Since you are now nearing the end of the alphabet, you can use alphabet sets to review the letters with your child and make sure he or she doesn’t forget all that you have learned. Of course, you have plenty of time to review as your child learns to read, so this doesn’t need to be stressful.

This Letter V Booklist for Preschool has a sweet picture book about a little dog who broke a vase, plus a bunch of other great books you will enjoy reading together.
When you are ready to sit down and make the craft with your child, review the letter V and its sound again. If you have a vase and can put flowers in it together, that would be a wonderful thing to explore before doing this craft. If you have any toys that begin with V, pull those out and take them to the table so you can say each name and hear the letter sound again. Ask your child to name some other things that begin with the V sound.
