Can you make the voices for the Three Billy Goats Gruff? One of my favorite teachers growing up was the one who could do all the voices and would tell us the story from memory. She was an amazing storyteller. Stories make such powerful impressions on our kids! Read the Three Billy Goats Gruff and more from this list of letter G picture books for preschool.
When it’s time to read to your kids under seven, the more pictures the better. Pictures bring the story alive, and teach your child the important skill of picturing what we read. That’s why we love this list of letter G picture books for preschool. Your child will be practicing the sound of G while enjoying the gorgeous imagery and rich language of this genre.
The letter G is a consonant with two sounds. The hard G in goat, and the soft G in giraffe are two different distinct sounds of G which can cause confusion in the beginning. We’ve included books with both different sounds on this list, but if your child is only ready for one sound start with the hard G sound.
This letter g picture books list is organized by theme. You can pick and choose whichever books you’d like to read from the list, they are all great books! You will also love my list of books for the Letter F.
